How to get to the canal

The easiest access to the canal is at Canal Head, where there are two car parks. The entrance is opposite the Wellington Oak pub (now closed).

To visit the canal at Melbourne, please park in the village and walk down the lane alongside the pub to the Melbourne Arm and go on further until you reach the canal.

Other access points are at Coates Bridge, Bielby, Walbut Bridge and East Cottingwith (down Canal Lane).

BOAT TRIPS RUN FROM MELBOURNE ARM and not Canal Head!
