Giles Lock

Giles lock

This is the most secluded lock on the canal and there is a lot of tree cover. You may not see many birds but you will certainly hear them!

The old top gates have been removed and replaced by timber to maintain the level of the canal above the lock. Some repairs have been carried out to the brickwork but the chamber will probably need extensive restoration, at least above water level.
